Synopsis:
It’s easy to say, “I love you.” Much harder to honour its implications. In duelling portraits of chaotic men, whose paths converge in unexpected ways, we watch as Jack (Scott Bailey, the square-jawed love child of Matt Bomer and a Kennedy) and Pete (the dapper Darryl Stephens, who starred as Noah in celebrated TV dramedy, Noah’s Arc) make a mess of their lives. Jack is cheating on his accomplished wife (Keili Lefkovitz), who is given a rounded portrayal of her own as an unfairly wronged woman, while Pete seems to hop from one “down-low” coupling to another. When they find each other, sparks fly, and their undeniable chemistry keeps the affair aflame until Jack’s constant cancellations send Pete into the arms of a tattooed trust funder who offers him a romance in the open. Regardless, love endures for Jack and Pete beyond the initial rush, refusing to loose its grip. Writer-director Doug Spearman, another Noah’s Arc alum, infuses the engrossing script with reflections on race, intuition, and the damage left in the wake of deceit, as well as the possibilities of what emerges from the rubble.
