Zhong Yi takes you on a regional exploration through the ages, as all dances instruments and costumes are presented as they were originally conceived.

This year’s show highlights all corners of the country and its rich history through music and dance. From the majestic Thai dance originating in the south to the powerful Mongolian dances from the north, Zhong Yi 2020 brings a bright tapestry of China to Montreal. Experience the lively and vivid movements of the Xinjiang Dance from the west and eclectic performing arts from China’s eastern provinces.

Zhong Yi 2020 is the 24th Chinese New Year Celebration Gala hosted in Montréal. The show is performed under the creative direction of the MCCCA that boasts over a thousand tailored costumes and historical replica musical instruments. The Gala features 90 talented dancers and musicians from the Chinese diaspora and China. For over two decades, the organization has bridged communities, through its performances and collaborations. Special renditions reimagine classics with the help of contemporary dancers, Quebec folk dancers and local professional acrobats.
