PHILOMÈNE LONGPRÉ, FLIGHT OF LYRICISM

Every year, during the fall and the spring, Snow Geese travel more than 4,000 km. Longpré witnessed a flock of 1.5 million migrating Snow Geese at Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge in Missouri, one of the most spectacular ornithological events in North America. This experience led to Longpré's new large-scale robotic art installation. «The Snow Geese completely block out the sky, creating a texturally rich audio and visual experience. I tried to capture that feeling in my new installation: Flight of Lyricism.» – Philomène Longpré.
