Singer for Matchbox Twenty, also voice of "Smooth" of Santana and solo artist.
As the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas helped to give strength and anguish to the face of the guy next door. Unlike the Seattleites who had defined the first half of the 1990s, Thomas was clear and did not oppose the pop hooks or shiny layers of production, a combination that camouflaged the pain at the heart of Matchbox Twenty's debut in 1996 , Yourself or Someone Like You. The group's first album, becoming a blockbuster, allowed Thomas to leave the band to co-write and sing "Smooth", an unprecedented success for Santana in 1999.
Thomas has worked with producer Butch Walker for his fourth solo album, Chip Tooth Smile in 2019, which he will perform for you this night!
