ALAYÊ

Alayê means “possessor of life” in the Yoruba language. Expressive, lively and energetic, this ensemble can be said, beyond a doubt, to constitute whatever is most stirring! The Montréal benchmark in the Afro-Brazilian percussive traditions of Pernambuco since 2011, Alayê happily shares, in the manner of the great carnival processions, the traditions of northeast Brazil such as maracatu, afoxé, coco, ciranda and Crnomblé spiritual rhythms.
