Melody Gardot has come a long way since writing her first EP from a hospital bed, the victim of a hit-and-run accident that nearly cost her her life. Using music' s therapeutic properties, she has developed a very personal jazz sound, close to her emotions.
Compared to Joni Mitchell and Eva Cassidy at the time of her first album, she has reinvented herself over the years without losing the sensitivity that made her successful. Her latest album, Entre eux deux, co-written with pianist-composer Philippe Powell, revives the piano and voice format, infusing it with a fresh perspective, imbued with romantic sensuality.
