In 2012, France’s most prominent rock star, Johnny Hallyday (born Jean-Philippe Smet) brought his world tour to Montreal where he blew away fans for two unforgettable evenings… and now, L’idole des Jeunes (the teen idol) returns to Montreal, for one night only, as part of a North-American tour that will take him to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Trois-Rivières, Quebec City, New York, Washington, Boston and Miami Beach.
Influenced by Elvis Presley and American rock’n roll, Hallyday’s career spans a half century, having sold more than 100 million records, garnered 21 Platinum albums, 8 French Music Awards (Victoire de la musique), appeared in 36 movies and performed for more than 28 million fans. His most recent album, L'Attente, was released in November 2012. His numerous collaborations include Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Peter Frampton, Taj Mahal and Bono.
With a variety of musical influences (rock, twist, yéyé, soul, pop), and a repertoire of more than a 1,000 songs, the iconic French rocker delivers a spectacular live show with his undeniable stage presence. Renowned for his trademark deep, rasping voice, Hallyday continues to fill arenas and stadiums in France and elsewhere with fans of all ages.
