Nya Soleil’s music is rooted in the Bamileke traditions of western Cameroon. Relying strongly on the local bend-skin and manganbeu, the artist crafts what he refers to as a bracing multi-groove Afro, enlivened with bits of Afrobeat, Afrojazz, reggae, salsa and funk.
