The artist has always been more interested by expression rather than impression, creating colorful universes whith an eclectic mix of graphic elements, sometimes more abstract, sometimes drawn from popular culture. The dream like world evocative of the naive candor of childhood is translated with total freedom and free from the obsession of perfection. Brault’s paintings present themselves like music partitions. They offer an experience that is at the same time visual and rhythmic where shapes and motifs and colors are elaborated on the surface just like musical notes. A melody seems to emanate from his canvases composed with chords that are at times harmonious and at other times dissonant but focuses more on creating a sensation rather than totranslate a discourse.It is a relationship with painting that is very direct and intuitive that Brault proposes to the spectator, an experience oriented towards pleasure and the need for freedom.
