Accomplished director Rebecca Zlotowski does her best work yet with this stylistic drama, casting Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp as a pair of spiritualist sisters in 1930s Paris. Laura and Kate Barlow are American mediums touring Europe—they are wonderfully weird and good-looking to boot! A Parisian movie producer, Andre Korben, even attempts to launch a project starring Laura (Portman) and French heartthrob Louis Garrel, but turbulent events in Europe on the brink of war intervene. PLANETARIUM is the first French Film to be shot on supercamera ALEXA 35, and it certainly gives the film a fabulous look – so much so that it received a nomination for a César 2017 for its sumptuous set designs.
