When Heather O’Neill published her novel Lullabies for Little Criminals in 2006, it caused a sensation throughout Montreal and the rest of Canada, winning the 2007 Canada Reads competition. Eight years later, O’Neill publishes her latest novel, The Girl Who Was Saturday Night, about the twin children of a faded Quebec folk singer who learns that the past is never completely erased.
