Jamie brings his unique blend of circus arts, acrobatic skill and unguarded comedic style to his new show A Fool’s Errand. A single rope is stretched across a dark void like a chalk line drawn across a blank slate. From the moment he falls onto the stage, an adventure unfolds. Jamie, crawls, shimmies, sways and stumbles across a swinging rope trying to explore the what-ifs along this path he’s chosen.  What is his path? Wanting to be a polished artist like the great comedians from black and white re-runs who inspired him as a child, he tries his best but what ensues is barely contained chaos that is both deft and daft. Making up the rules as needed, we watch him negotiate the laws of gravity and we are reminded that the path to success is never a straight line. In fact it is sometimes a wobbly rope and every adventure begins… with a single step!

Jamie Adkins has conceived this new show as the conclusion to a one man show trilogy that began with TYPO followed by Circus Incognitus.

The show benefited from a residency (co-production) at Place des Arts.
