A Danse Danse presentation

Formerly a dancer with Angelin Preljocaj and Jan Fabre, Olivier Dubois demonstrates a fearless radicalism that is not only a disturbing force on the French dance scene but the basis of his success. In this final part of a trilogy on resistance, he submits the nude bodies of his 18 dancers to the implacable repetition of a mechanism that slowly gnaws away at their docility, pushing them toward a joyous liberation. The quasi-geometric formations they deploy in the space explode into bursts of wild movement, the unleashed bodies almost convulsing. Their obsessive march turns into jumps, falls, running and rearing up as they reach out to one another to give some sense to life and to the world. After shaking up the Avignon Festival in 2012, this Tragédie is performed by phenomenal dancers, sweeping the audience along in the irrepressible throes of a collective catharsis.
