These two virtuoso jazzmen have already crossed “swords” a number of times, notably at the Festival in 2009, in a quintet. The creative chemistry between famed French pianist Baptiste Trotignon and talented American saxophonist Mark Turner is so powerful that they decided to immortalize it with an album: Dusk Is A Quiet Place, a gem of voluptuous melodies and ethereal rhythms, with some joyous improvs inspired by Bach. An intimate and elegant piano-sax duo.
