Uwe Scholz's The Creation is a visual interpretation of Joseph Haydn's monumental oratorio, a work inspired by the creation of the world as told by the Book of Genesis.

From chaos emerge light, life, flora, fauna, and humanity, leading up to the awakening of the love between Adam and Eve. Deeply religious, Haydn infuses this composition with vibrant faith and absolute mastery of the classical style, creating a musical manifesto full of grandeur and hope.

Uwe Scholz, a master of choreography both complex and precise, magnifies Haydn's vision through a series of meticulously crafted tableaux. This choreographic language, which skillfully blends classical ballet with contemporary movements, captures both the cosmic vastness and the intimacy of the creative process.

The dancers, propelled by an orchestra, a choir, as well as a soprano, a tenor, and a bass, embody elemental forces, divine figures, and the first humans. Scholz orchestrates a ballet that balances grandeur and restraint, where technical virtuosity never eclipses genuine emotion. More than a tribute to Haydn, The Creation unfolds as a fully immersive experience—one where movement and sound fuse to create a profoundly moving work.
