From their debut in 2010 in hushed jazz clubs to major concerts at prestigious festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, The Brooks have carved out a formidable reputation as a groove machine. Their fifth album, “Soon As I Can” (2024), takes their dancefloor momentum to new heights. At the heart of this supergroup's musical project are the joy of playing, a deep sense of collegiality and genuine artistic freedom. Electrifying both on record and on stage, The Brooks' music is driven by bouncy rhythms, flamboyant brass, inventive keyboards and bewitching guitar lines, navigating between funk, soul, R&B, Afrobeat and jazz. Bringing together bassist Alexandre Lapointe, singer and trombonist Alan Prater, guitarist Philippe Look and percussionist Philippe Beaudin, The Brooks is much more than the sum of its parts: it's a celebration of over 50 years of the evolution of African-American music, both respectful of its roots and firmly rooted in the present.
