The blue hour: that fleeting moment between day and night when the sky veils itself in a diaphanous blue. A suspended in between, a wavering between what was and what will be, between birth and mourning.

This sense of suspension is at the heart of this double program, featuring works by Anne Plamondon and Vanesa Garcia-Ribala Montoya. Each choreographer, in her own way, explores the subtleties of time, space, and identity.

In "Ma Saudade," choreographer Anne Plamondon draws inspiration from a formative period of her career in Lisbon, immersing us in a bittersweet melancholy—a longing for what is absent, tinged with a hopeful nostalgia. Like the blue hour itself, she distills the essence of this intricate emotion, where past and present intertwine. Set to a mesmerizing electronic score, this visceral work unearths frozen moments, like fragments of buried memory. With minimalist staging, Plamondon oscillates between absence and hope, enveloping her piece in the delicate poetry of a universal twilight.

If Plamondon invites us to introspection, Vanesa Garcia-Ribala Montoya, in contrast, sweeps us into a whirlwind of energy and colour with "From the Sun to the Moon." Richly textured and visually dense, her choreography draws from her Spanish and African cultural heritage, taking us on a journey through history, spirituality, and artistic imagination.
