Under the baton of Naomi Woo, Liszt’s diabolical Mephisto Waltz, Mussorgsky’s haunting Night on Bald Mountain, Verdi’s enchanting Witches’ Dance from Macbeth and Augusta Holmès’s epic Andromeda bring timeless stories and legends to life. Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1, with its blend of macabre undertones and ironic twists, seamlessly complements the program’s atmosphere. With a performance by renowned cellist Maximilian Hornung, returning to the OM after his remarkable debut in 2019, this concert is bound to be spine-tingling!
