Free
This artistic event, conceived by the poet and UQAM Professor Marc-André Brouillette, will give free rein to the power of images, rhythms, and gestures.
The third edition of the Nuit de la poésie invites curious minds to come together for an evening of encounters and sharing, a chance to be surprised by the words, music, bodies, and images taking over Place des Arts’ public spaces.
- Poetry readings and dance improvisations
Artists from poetry, music, and dance scenes will assemble to offer intimate, compassionate, and engaging experiences. Inaugurated by Innu poet Joséphine Bacon, Elder in Residence at UQAM, the evening will host over 25 poets from all backgrounds, of which France Théoret, Marie-Célie Agnant, Karianne Trudeau Beaunoyer, Dominique Fortier, Jean-Marc Desgent, Charles Guilbert, Camille Readman Prud’homme, Isabelle Miron, Tania Langlais and Stéphane Martelly, who will share their love of words through performances interwoven with music, interpretations in Quebec Sign Language, and dance improvisations.
Location: Salon urbain
- Performances on Baschet sound structures
You can witness musical performances on Baschet sound structures, percussive instruments that are as visually captivating as they are vibrant, created in the 1950s by the Baschet brothers and which have profoundly inspired contemporary music, including electronic music.
Location: Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme
- Digital work
In addition, the media work Métallophytes (2025) by UQAM students Marie Di Caro and Audrey Grandchamp will be shown on the screen mosaic. The work evolves over various landscapes formed by poetic text addressing key environmental issues.
Location: Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme
You are invited to come to spend a night full of dreams and surprises, where loose tongues and bodies promise to make for a dynamic, impactful, and touching event.
