CinéQueer celebrates the richness and diversity of 2SLGBTQIA+ voices through a bold and engaging film program. Over three days of in-person screenings at the Salle Alanis Obomsawin at the NFB headquarters, as well as an accessible online component available for the duration of the Fierté Montréal Festival and presented by image+nation, audiences are invited to discover films that move, challenge, and inspire. From shorts to features animated, documentaries to hybrid works, the program showcases a wide range of perspectives and stories from queer creators both in Québec and Canada, and around the world. By highlighting the work of both emerging and established filmmakers, CinéQueer creates a space where visibility, self-expression, and artistic freedom take center stage. More than just a screening series, it’s a gathering place for communities and cinema lovers alike — one where queerness in all its forms is seen, heard, and celebrated. On Tuesday, August 5, discover En Marche: Love and Queer Resistance, a documentary by Noam Gonick (Canada), which captures the key moments that sparked the 2SLGBTQI+ movement in Canada, produced by the Office national du film du Canada.
