The MEM and FICAM invite you to the Montreal premiere of Annie Leclair's film Les eaux calmes, co-screened with the Festival du nouveau cinéma and in collaboration with the Regroupement des aveugles et amblyopes du Montréal métropolitain (RAAMM). The director and lead actress, Soleine Démétré, will be in attendance, along with members of the RAAMM Culture Committee. They will discuss their new role on the FICAM film selection committee and the films selected for blind audiences for this edition. The film will be screened in French with French audio description. The screening will be held in the MEM’s Cabaret.
Adapted transport vehicles can park in the drop-off area in front of the museum and there is elevator access to the Cabaret. The screening is accessible to blind or visually impaired people, wheelchair users, and members of the public without disabilities.
L’Astralopithèque, a work by the art collective Cummings&Pifko, will be shown in the Cabaret from October 21 to 25. It is presented by the digital creation centre TOPO, which will also be setting up a demo area in Workshop 1 at the MEM under the theme, “Art, digital creation and well-being.” The area will include interactive installations, games, a virtual reality experience and websites.
