The Compassion Machine

HOW GOOD ARE YOU?

To prevent unwanted behaviours, society is constantly watching and evaluating us. But what would happen if surveillance algorithms instead measured our capacity for kindness? That’s the question Ensemble Ensemble raises with this installation. By letting themselves be scanned by the massive camera, spectators receive a personalized prediction of their future altruistic actions. An invitation to reject everyday suspicion.
