Painting the city since 1993, Zek is a graffiti scene pioneer who is still active in Montreal. His dedication, talent and love for the craft have earned him the respect of his peers and community. His work has influenced many graffiti artists of the next generation. He is a master of the medium, known for his razor-sharp line work, crisp calligraphy and combinations of bright colours. As an ambassador of Montreal’s lettering style, Zek has been travelling and collaborating with graffiti artists from all over the world. He is a member of the infamous international crew 156, and creates large-scale murals working solo as well as in collaboration as part of Ashop.

FOR THREE DECADES, HE HAS BEEN PUSHING THE LIMITS OF AEROSOL PAINT
The countless hours he's put in practicing his art have made him a master of gradients and solids and an accomplished artist in the traditional “writing style”, a type of graffiti centred around calligraphy. His style is characterized by the precision of his lines and the combination of bright colours.
ZEK is also known for the realism of his figurative works and large-scale productions. Over the years, he has become an ambassador of the Montreal graffiti scene, traveling to several countries and collaborating with some of the most recognized graffiti artists in the world.
“For a few years now, I have been combining my lettering work with abstract painting as a way to bring my art into a post-graffiti phase and to work on canvas or interior design. I also take great pleasure in painting murals for their large size and their monumental aspect.”
