Festival Quartiers Danses
Information on the activity
September 7, 2017 to September 17, 2017
As part of its celebrations, the FQD is organizing its programming around the theme of “The Builders”; a vibrant homage to the artists and creators that have marked the last 14 years of the festival. These Montreal pioneers, and their undeniable innovation, have allowed contemporary dance to evolve and transform itself. The festival’s 15th edition will take place on September 7 to 17, 2017 and will include 11 days of indoor shows and 28 performances in an urban context in different key places around Montreal. The FQD’s 15th edition will focus more than ever on democratizing dance in all its forms by making it more accessible to Montreal communities and audiences, in both traditional and unusual venues. The festival is an annual event that invites citizens from the neighborhood and community to discover original dance, to be open to and participate in the richness of this artistic discipline through accessible and diverse programming. The FQD offers shows presented by primarily local, but also national and international, artists. It adopts a multidisciplinary approach to local original dance by offering shows, performances, installations, films, expositions, meetings, round tables, and, finally, cultural mediation workshops for the Montreal community.
