New luminous facade at the CineRobotheque

A distinctive lighting concept is illuminating the facade of the NFB’s CineRobotheque.

A succession of giant letters, lit with light-emitting diodes (LEDs), form the word “cinema” and indicate the entryway of the building with a multicoloured display that pulsates from left to right.

The product of a collaboration between the Quartier des spectacles Partnership and the National Film Board of Canada, this new part of the Lighting Plan is the achievement of Axel Morgenthaler, working from a concept developed by Intégral Ruedi Baur and Intégral Jean Beaudoin. It is the first of a series of interventions in the Quartier Latin, which is home to a number of buildings with a cultural vocation.

This installation will soon be complete with the addition of the luminous signature, which will definitively connect the building with the pedestrian realm and identify the CineRobotheque as one of the must-see cultural venues of the Quartier des spectacles.
