La Vitrine is now a major asset for the Quartier des spectacles, bringing a central ticket window and an information booth together into the same – virtual and physical – space.

This long-awaited new service has opened at Place des Arts on Sainte-Catherine Street.

The opening of this last-minute ticket window also showcases the first dynamic cultural display in downtown Montreal. Part of the Quartier des spectacles Lighting Plan, this luminous and energy-efficient façade is the work of Axel Morgenthaler. It presents shifting abstract images, inspired by the visual identity of the Quartier des spectacles. A key element of the development vision that aims to enhance the cultural assets of the neighbourhood, this installation is part of the second phase of the Lighting Plan Pilot Project, for which the other portions will soon be unveiled.

The Partnership contributed $47,500 to La Vitrine for this installation, a contribution made possible by a $500,000 subsidy from the City of Montreal and $80,000 from the Ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions.
