BARE FEET ON CAMPUS

All these years, novels and movies have always covered stories in which the main characters from the Western World travel to India. These characters are introduced to a very meaningful and spiritual world very different from the Western world they live in, and in which their souls undergo changes through this journey. The film takes a different perspective at the same story by totally looking at it the other way around. In this story the main characters don’t go to India, On the contrary, India comes to where they are… An Indian girl named Shiva comes to the University in Turkey and starts changing the lives of the students around her. The story reaches it’s climax when the shocking secret of Shiva is revealed.

Cansel Elçin was born in Izmir, Turkey, 20 September 1973, but his family moved to France when he was 9 years old. He has grown up trilingual and can speak French, English and Turkish. He studied in the École Florent in Paris where he was a classmate with Audrey Tautou. He has French citizenship. In 2009, he directed his first feature film, Kampüste Ç?plak Ayaklar.
