A series of illustrations from iconic moments in the history of Le Nouveau International by Rebecca McFarlane.

Rebecca McFarlane is a Canadian artist who has exhibited across Canada and in Europe. Raised in Alberta, she now currently resides in Montreal. A graduate of Concordia’s Studio Art program, she’s most recently returned back to study Illustration and Animation at Dawson College. Rebecca’s work explores that grey area between darkness and humour frequently drawing inspiration from the Montreal comedy scene and popular culture. Her subjects often vary, but her she always walks into a project with a heavy step and a bold sense of style.

Le Nouveau International is a Montreal-based, bilingual, non-profit arts organization focused on performance. Officially founded by Mark Louch, Alain Mercieca and Sandi Armstrong in 2009, their productions were performed as early as 2001. Le Nouveau produces bilingual plays and films, The Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival, weekly events including: Sunday Night Improv, Les Lundis d’impro & Art Machine as well as various other fun events. Le Nouveau International has developed a reputation for innovative, non-traditional theatre that encourages collaboration and partnership in Québec’s diverse artistic landscape.
