OUD À L'OUEST

Instead of highlighting the differences between musical traditions, why not bring them together? That's the idea behind this concert by Naseer Shamma, the undisputed master of the oud, in collaboration with the Orchestre Métropolitain. The concert presents new takes on pieces by Mozart, Rossini, Vivaldi and Rimsky-Korsakov, as well as the Iraqi musician's original compositions. Part of the Montreal Arabe World Festival, this musical journey through eastern and western classics challenges the idea of "duality" in favour of a more inclusive approach.
