PASSION FOR MOZART

PASSION FOR MOZART

Information on the activity

Dates to come

There are many reasons to love Mozart. For Frank Martin, who wrote his Ouverture en hommage à Mozart to mark the composer’s 200th birthday in 1956, it is Mozart’s unique voice that remains the most admirable. There is no denying that Mozart did things his own way, such as making the viola equal to the violin in his Sinfonia concertante. With its romantic ardour and overlapping eras, Tchaikovsky’s Mozartiana is an affectionate tip of the hat to the eponymous composer. Cheerful and light, the “Haffner” Symphony offers yet another reason to be passionate about Mozart, bringing the program to a close.
